About

The 1^st meeting of Project and Social Sciences focuses on interdisciplinary dialogue between the Social Sciences and the areas of project, in domains and scales addressed by Urbanism, Architecture, Design and Fashion. As a basic proposition, we set the imperative to reflect on the current needs and opportunities that arise from a contingent reality, implicated with adequate strategies for the shared construction of a more sustainable, inclusive and socially fairer world.
In this sense, we propose:
— bring together experts, designers, researchers and students to present theoretical and methodological tools from the social sciences and their applicability to the design field;
— raise awareness of the need to adopt and implement interdisciplinary projects, of proximity and that are characterised by effectively participatory and socially concerted practices;
— to present and discuss examples of projects based on participatory processes, understanding their extreme relevance for the inscription in processes and products of the aforementioned cumulative design of sustainability, social justice and inclusion.
